About Us
The story began way back in 1992 when myself, Nigel, after a spell working for BT, hating every minute. Decided that the buying and selling of motor vehicles was the lifestyle choice for me. Having witnessed some awful sheepskin coats and chunky gold jewelry at dealerships around the town, think Derek Trotter and Arthur Daly rolled into one, I affiliated myself to the long established and highly respected Thornfalcon Car Sales, near Taunton. Whilst there I quickly learned the trade, and more importantly, to treat people as people, rather than as mere 'customers' with a total lack of sincerity as we so often hear is the case elsewhere.
A lesson carried forward many years later with the next generation of 'internees' at Littlemoor Motor Company! Alongside my cars at Thornfalcon, I successfully retailed cars from my own garage, Jubilee Service Station at East Lyng for close to 20 years, and even to this day, supply cars to those that I first sold to back in the 1990’s. In 2018 I found myself settled in the beautiful village of Mark, near Highbridge, and upon the procurement of suitable premises in the village, Littlemoor Motor Company was born. In 2020, son Dougie joined the fold, initially unenthusiastic, I mean who likes valeting cars?! Things changed thankfully after moving on to buying and selling his own stock, and after proving his worth, I’m proud to say he’s now my partner in the business. Not long after Dougie arrived, along came one of his chums, Ferrari (a perfect name for a motor dealer if ever I heard one), who is successfully selling his vehicles alongside us, a much valued member of our team! Talking of our team, it wouldn’t be complete without our front of house, meet and greet executive, the much adored Barkley the labrador, (The Boss), occasionally joined by the youngsters, Cooper, Rex and Ralph (idiots who haven’t quite clocked on yet!)
If you've not already worked it out, we're very different to most garages, we make car buying a unpressured, relaxed and friendly experience for all concerned, and we genuinely want everyone to leave us happy, whether they buy a vehicle or just pop in for a chat.
By keeping viewing to by appointment only, not having an all singing and dancing coffee machine and shiny suited, pointy shoed 'sales executives' spouting insincere rubbish, we keep our overheads down as much as we can, and therefore can offer competitive prices, without compromising on service or quality. Our stock is high quality large garage group part exchange vehicles, with good service records.
